'Port City' is an artificial future city created from a beautiful beach that shimmers like gold, located close to the foothills. The project was launched in 2014. It is also noteworthy that the 72-year-old independent Sri Lanka is a highly anticipated economic zone.

The Mahaweli project established in Sri Lanka and developed with greater anticipation than the garment factories developed for export. Port City boasts of being the premier smart city in Asia. The port city is located on an area of ​​about 269 hectares.

It is a beautiful city created by a number of talented engineers. How can a city be built on the sea? Is this possible in our country? Will the project succeed? As everyone asked in surprise. It is a large scale investment project initiated and developed by the Government of Sri Lanka with the financial assistance of China.

The project was initiated under the policy of co-ordinating various government related departments in Colombo to establish investment in one place in the country.

It is safe to say that our country has gained a foothold today due to the relentless efforts of the Government in spite of many problems in the midst of construction.

The project was completed in January 2019. It has been set up to include a central park, an artificial beach, a sports training center and a pedestrian overpass to attract tourists.

It is the opinion of many that this is not only a promising project for our country but will also be a great support to increase foreign exchange in the future.

There is no doubt that this will become a symbol for the younger generation of our country. The project is expected to be a success, attracting more investor attention in the new year.
